Advance Auto Parts Celebrates Grand Opening with MBC, Town

On July 29, Medway’s new Advance Auto Parts store celebrated its Grand Opening at 72 Main Street – complete with red carpet, a store full of balloons and giveaways. You may recall that Advance Auto Parts purchased Carquest Auto Parts a couple of years ago and took over Carquest’s Medway location (behind Ocean State Job Lot). Much of the store’s business comes from larger corporate accounts or professional installers. However, the new location and visibility will make it easier for do-it-yourselfers to stop in, too.  You will be greeted by friendly team members eager to help you navigate the seemingly endless rows of floor-to-ceiling parts. Advance Auto Parts, Inc. is the largest aftermarket auto parts provider in North America – and it shows! This store is stocked with more types of parts than most of us knew our vehicle used!

Headquartered in Roanoke, VA, Advance Auto Parts was founded by Arthur Taubman in 1932. Today the company operates over 5,200 stores and employs approximately 74,000 Team Members.

Store and corporate Team Members participated in a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the store. Members of the Medway Business Council (MBC) and representatives of the Town of Medway were on hand to share in the celebration. MBC Vice President Paul Rao offered congratulations and welcomed Advance Auto Parts to Medway and to the MBC.

The festivities continued as Tina Chemini, owner of T. C. Scoops, set up her mobile shop – a combination hot dog stand and ice cream parlor – and served lunch.  T. C. Scoops began offering “Scoop Dogs” from its new location at 104 Main Street (Medway Plaza) this summer and they look to be a hit with young and old! Putting the cherry on top of the celebration – quite literally – Tina served up some of her delectable ice cream with a smorgasbord of toppings to choose from.

Please help us welcome Advance Auto Parts!
