Member Spotlight: The Little Gym of Medway

Fostering Growth, Confidence, and Community Through Movement

The Little Gym of Medway (Gould Plaza, off Rt. 109) offers 2,300 square feet of joy, where children’s laughter and boundless energy ignite a journey of discovery and growth. Since May 2021, owners Nigel and Leah Chan have infused their passion and dedication into the indoor gym, rejuvenating the space and transforming it into a colorful and nurturing place. At The Little Gym, children develop life skills: listening, teamwork, leadership, and sharing, all propelled by the joy of movement on “the big red mat” – a symbol of community where families can have fun and grow together. The Little Gym is a vibrant community hub where children learn the essence of friendship and teamwork.

A Philosophy of Three-Dimensional Learning

As former clients turned stewards of The Little Gym’s philosophy, Leah and Nigel aim to sculpt the whole child’s body, mind, and spirit into well-rounded, considerate “good citizens.” Their innovative three-dimensional learning concept emphasizes movement, mental nurturing, and the cultivation of a robust community spirit and sense of belonging.

Tailored Programs for Holistic Development

Catering to children from 4 months to 12 years, The Little Gym of Medway offers non-competitive programs to support every stage of growth. The Little Gym of Medway offers an array of parent/child classes, Pre-K and Grade School Gymnastics, and tap and ballet classes for the 3-6 age group. Each program lays down stepping stones towards social, emotional, and physical development and foster critical thinking, goal-setting, and spatial awareness by stimulating both hemispheres of the brain.

Beyond the Gym: Community Events, Birthdays, and Celebrations

The Little Gym of Medway extends its inviting atmosphere through exciting community events accessible to members and non-members alike. From the Winter Wonderland Ugly Sweater Party to the beloved annual Halloween bash, these fun communal gatherings enhance the gym’s reputation as a premier venue for memorable private birthday celebrations.

Discover the enriching programs and events at The Little Gym of Medway, located at 74 Main St in Medway. The owners offer an open invitation to “try one of our introductory classes without any commitment” which encapsulates the gym’s ethos. Join the community and learn more by visiting their website, and connect with them on Facebook and Instagram for updates and inspirations.

New Member Spotlight: Tom Strachan, ServiceBuddy.io

Tom Strachan, Service Buddy

Thomas Strachan, founder of ServiceBuddy.io

Today we shine a spotlight on a new Medway business founded by a Medway neighbor. Please support local businesses like ServiceBuddy.io whenever you can!

Welcome to MBC, Tom!

Q: Describe what makes your business special:

A: Founded by Medway native Tom Strachan, Service Buddy is the leading management software for tradespeople. Service Buddy helps you manage clients, schedule jobs, and get paid automatically. With our easy-to-use software, you can automate payments, chat with customers, schedule jobs, and send quotes easily via text or email – from Service Buddy’s platform.

Q: What do you wish people would know about Service Buddy?

A: Many great tradespeople are amazing at their trade, but utilizing software to organize and optimize their business may be less familiar to them (and a bit scary!). Our platform was designed for folks that work in a trade or service business. It’s easy to learn, use, and truly helps you win more jobs, and increase both your sales and profit.

Q: What is your favorite book, and why?

A: “How Will You Measure Your Life?” by Clayton M. Christensen. It’s a great book that challenges you to really think about what is most important to you.

Q: Share the spotlight! Other than your own, what is one of your favorite Medway businesses?

A: Galante’s Restaurant. There is a reason they’ve been in business so long. Good food and better service.

Q: Where can we find you when you aren’t working?

Depending on the season, either golfing, skiing, or watching college football.

Thanks, Tom! To find out more about Service Buddy, watch the company’s 40-second video here to find out more, or reach out to Tom at tom@servicebuddy.io.
