October 11th MBC Luncheon with Town Manager Michael Boynton

The Medway Business Council is beyond thrilled to announce that our upcoming October 2023 general members meeting will be a “lunch and learn” with Michael E. Boynton the Town Manager for the Town of Medway! Given recent social media exposure to some topics of interest to residents, business owners and adjacent communities Michael has agreed to host a talk for current MBC members and future members.

The luncheon will be held at Restaurant 45 (45 Milford Street) on Wednesday, October 11th from 11:45AM to 1:15PM.

Tentative schedule is check-in at 11:45AM, followed by a plated lunch at 12:00PM and prepared remarks starting at 12:20 followed by a Q&A session.

Attendees will be able to select one of four plated lunch options the day of the event, along with a starter of garden salad and vanilla ice cream for dessert:

  1. Chicken Marsala (sautéed boneless chicken filets| mushrooms| marsala wine butter sauce| penne)
  2. Zio’s Chicken (parmesan encrusted boneless breast of chicken| potato gnocchi| tomato cream sauce| lightly dressed arugula| crispy prosciutto| shaved parmesan)
  3. Penne Primavera (medley of fresh vegetables| olive oil| garlic| parmesan cheese| penne)
  4. Salad topped with Grilled Salmon

Michael’s anticipated topics include:

  1. Update on any potential new development projects along Medway’s Main Street Business District following the Route 109 Transportation Improvement Project, including the recently publicized Meehan properties and USPS abrupt closing.
  2. The Town’s plans for the now vacant 8-acre Medway Block property (120 Main Street) that was purchased by the Town of Medway for $4.5 million, such as potential relocation of existing public safety facilities and/or location of future municipal facilities in more strategically placed locations as per the Master Planning process.
  3. Any additional information on the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) petition by Medway Grid, LLC to construct a 250WM/500 MWh stand-alone Battery Energy Storage Facility, including a new electric substation on 10.6 acres of land at 49, 53 and 55 Milford Street in Medway.
  4. The impact of any Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) updates to the Flood Insurance Rate Map and 90-day appeal period starting September 1, 2023.
  5. Reminder of request for feedback on and importance of Medway’s Hazard Mitigation Plan.
  6. Any Select Board related updates on the new Tri-Country Regional Technical High School Building, the West Medway Industrial park and bottle cap lots, etc.
