We need volunteers and nominations for our MBC Board of Director & Officer Slate 2023-2024

MBC needs volunteers to remain a strong organization.  Are you willing to serve?  Nominations for the MBC Board of Directors for 2023-2024.

Planning for MBC’s future is important…and we’re starting now.  Our Annual Meeting where we elect our Officers and Board Members may seem far away, but May will be here before you know it.

This year we have some notable openings on the board, and we are in need of volunteers to help lead MBC.  After 3 years as President and many more years on the board, Julie Dennehy will be stepping down, and there will be at least one board position open.

More hands lightens the work. In order for MBC to remain a viable organization, we need members to be part of the leadership as well as volunteer to support on committees.  It’s not difficult work or a huge time commitment, but it takes willingness to get involved.  The rewards of getting to know others in the business community are well worth it. If you are interested in serving please make yourself known.  No prior experience is necessary to serve on the MBC Board of Directors, and you do not have to be a long-time member.

The only requirements are that you are a member in good standing, who is willing to be actively involved and able to attend board meetings and events. The Board meets once a month (sometimes twice), typically via Zoom, to plan events and handle MBC business, and board members then work on committee/individual tasks as needed.  We are specifically looking for individuals who are able to assist with Program/Event planning; Membership outreach, and Communications.

Please complete the Slate of Nominations form on our website prior to March 30 to nominate yourself or someone else for the Board of Directors.  In addition to the form, you will find links to our current leadership team and the MBC by-laws, which describe the responsibilities.  The slate will be announced in April and voted upon at our May Annual Meetng.

If you thinking about being a director or volunteering for a committee but are unsure, please contact Julie Dennehy or Wayne Texeira to have a conversation.
